Late last fall, members of Interact, a Wells Rotary youth organization, along with some members of Wells Rotary assisted the WCC with improvements to the Fedderson Wildlife Commons (east). The FWC is part of a 766 acre parcel of conservation lands owned by the Town of Wells. There is currently about 1.5 miles of hiking trails in which the volunteer workforce helped to clean up, widen, clear and improve the current trail network. They also helped move an existing kiosk to create a new trailhead location adjacent to a nearby parking area.

The Town of Wells owns over 1800 acres of conservation lands managed by the WCC to allow public access for recreation, education, and conservation. They have several locations where trailheads have parking, informational kiosks and trail networks which affords miles of trails to explore and enjoy. Maintaining and improving these trails takes a continued effort year round and could not be done without the help of volunteer citizens and organizations like Interact and the Wells Rotary.
